About Robert Young
Robert has been taking photographs since the early 1970s. After a brief time using an old Agfa range finder camera and getting his film developed at a local photo processing shop, Rob bought an SLR and begin developing and printing his own work.
When the Canon D60 was released, Rob was convinced that the quality of digital cameras, coupled with the ease of processing, made switching to digital a viable step forward.
Rob contributes regularly to the French photo-sharing site, ipernity, less frequently to Flickr and maintains the Interface blog.
Over the years Rob has worked as a colour printer in professional studio, a public servant, and an employment counselor. After discovering computers in the late '70s ( he was the proud owner of a Tandy TRS-80) and subsequently starting the Australian version of Interface Publications with Tim Hartnell in 1983, Rob has provided instructional text, training materials, corporate documents and web copy to a number of Australian Companies.
Rob retired from full time work in 2006 to concentrate on photography and his own writing.
